“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.” Isaiah 61:1-2
Mending the Soul is a non-profit organization with a global vision - to bring healing from trauma and abuse in Jesus’ name!
We create holistic healing models to educate and resource individuals, churches, and service organizations with a sustainable trauma care model, free resources, and training contextualized for their specific communities.
We believe that healing happens in community, and seek to create resources that foster safe, restorative relationships.
Mending the Soul’s healing groups are designed to be safe and compassionate communities to heal from trauma and abuse. Each small group has a trained facilitator and co-facilitator who commit to their own healing first before helping others. They gently guide the discussions and offer support. MTS groups use the Mending the Soul resources (book and workbook) to walk through an integrated healing process. Typically the groups consist of 4-5 women or men (no co-ed groups), who have also experienced trauma and abuse.
Mending the Soul groups meet weekly for 12-14 weeks.
You can find a group here.
