I lost my draft after typing for twenty minutes. There are about ten minutes left. We will have a short chat this morning.
If I don't need a root canal, I will receive two permanent crowns today. There are no permanent crowns on earth.
I just discovered, however, that the Bible specifically mentions five different crowns believers can receive in heaven. These are:
imperishable crown
crown of rejoicing
crown of righteousness
crown of glory
crown of life
The Greek word "crown" is stephanos (the source of the name Stephen the martyr) and means "a badge of royalty, a prize in the public games or a symbol of honor generally." Used during the ancient Greek games, it referred to a wreath or garland of leaves placed on a victor's head as a reward for winning an athletic contest. So, how does one get these crowns, you ask? One must be faithful. What's faithful, you ask? The faithful remain loyal. We admit our sins. We believe Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sins so that we may have eternal life with Him. We ask Jesus into our hearts to be the Lord of our lives.
After my dental appointment, I am hoping to make a MaxLiving.com stew. I get most of my recipes from MaxLiving. Click here for the recipe.
